New freshwater pearl necklace with pendant, classic chic pearls in a modern and contemporary way. Inspired by my late grandmother's classic knotted pearl necklaces, but here with funky oval freshwater pearls with ring marks, so cute and unique, added the cool textured small RAW pendant for contrast.
The necklace is named after Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and procreation, not just because pearls are a classic beauty, but also because of Aphrodite's close connection to the sea.
She was created from sea foam and was born in the water, and she played a crucial role in maritime life in Ancient Greece. Figurines of her were carried aboard ships, worshipped at harbour side sanctuaries, and believed to help to bring whatever one desired, whether land, love or good weather.
Haven spent all my summers sailing as a child, I have always been fascinated by Aphrodite's powers and thought it appropriate to name a necklace after her in our shared love for the sea and in the hope that the necklace will also bring good luck to it's bearer.
The pearl choker is handmade using the classic knotting tecnique and I am happy to custom fit the size to ensure the necklace can rest beautifully on your collar bone.
No two necklaces are the same due to the nature of the pearls. Wear this beautiful necklace by itself or layer it for a boho chic look with other pearl or gold necklace, like the Sun Ray Necklace or the La Femme to Free the Chain Necklace.

10 percent of the annual profit of RAW Copeagen goes to charity, from 2019 all charity donations go to Women for Women, a UK based charity that helps women survivors of war in Afghanistan, the Balkans, Nigeria, DRC, Rwanda and Iraq, through vocational training, human rights awareness and much more. I have decided to donate this charity as I used to work with vulnerable women in the Balkans and West Africa before becoming a jewellery designer.
To best preserve the gold plating avoid the use of perfume, lotion, hairspray and other cosmetics to be in direct contact with your jewellery piece, and avoid storing your jewellery in the bath room, whether it is made of gold, gold plated metal or Sterling silver. Rather store your RAW designs in the jewellery pouch in a dry room.
